Living in a small space, sometimes it’s the little things that really help you make the most of the space you do have.

With a 28' boat of her own, experienced cruiser Nica Waters spotted five great ideas when visiting a friend's boat for a 10-day vacation.

Silpat baking mats

These are half sheet size, which tend to be useful for boat-sized ovens. These mats cannot be cut to size!

Dry erase board

Think of the space you have, and size accordingly. There are also stick on versions that might be of interest. I’ve also seen people use chalkboard paint!

Magnet strips (need 2)

Organization bins for the fridge

You totally could hit the local dollar store for these, and again check the size of YOUR fridge to see what works. Get sturdy ones, such as these from Sterilite!

Refillable pumps for sunscreen

I like glass; you may prefer plastic. Of course, if you have a large amount of lotion or shampoo that comes in such a container and just finish it off, reuse what you have!
